123-lb. Flathead on 12-lb. Test!

Here’s a blast from the past from the International Game Fish Association (IGFA). In May of 1998, angler Ken Paulie caught this 123-lb. flathead catfish from Elk City Reservoir in Independence, Kansas. It set the IGFA all-tackle world record for the species, which still stands today.

25-inch Westslope Cutthroat is an Idaho Record

A 25-inch-long westslope cutthroat trout is the new catch-and-release length record for Idaho. Daniel Whitesitt, of Post Falls, Idaho caught the big cutthroat on a stonefly nymph while fly fishing the Clark Fork River in northern Idaho on April 13.

Monster Snook Crushes Record

“Texas” Roy Crush said the snook he caught on April 26 in Quepos, Costa Rica could have eaten his previous personal-best snook. At 58.6 pounds and 50 inches long, Crush’s giant Pacific snook is certainly the fish of a lifetime. It crushed the existing IGFA 20-lb. line-class record of 47 pounds, and it’s just a pound shy of being the largest snook on record with IGFA.
