The striped torpedoes will have definitely arrived by December. For trolling, run The Wall from 120 to 1,000 feet. Heavy bullet shaped heads and dark colors should be the standard. There should also be a good run of mahi-mahi as Christmas approaches. Islanders of blue and white are a must for the arsenal, with ballyhoo tucked in and running strait in your surface rigs. Trolling weights or down-riggers should keep you busy for the day. The cuts around Highbourne Cay to the north end of the Exuma Cays should be red hot. Bottom fishing around the ledges as well will produce good sized grouper and excellent bottom fishing in the shallower water for other reef fish. I’ve been asked to mention the Exuma Land and Sea Park boundaries are strictly a “no take zone” as well as for trolling out to at least seven miles out from the shoreline. Check your cruisers guide for specific boundaries. Limits on fish are still in effect so know the laws!
Tight lines!
