Exuma Fishing Forecast – July 2012

Say’s Capt. Rowe, “Best marlin fishing on record in 15 years.” PHOTO CREDIT: Captain Doug Rowe.

It’s official, the best marlin fishing on record in 15 years that I can remember. We have caught and released the biggest marlin ever. They have weighed in the 550 to 600 pound range. We actually did two on one day! That day, we scored a 250 to 300 pound feisty male and a big one he was! It was the biggest fish my mate ever saw and he wasn’t about to go down there and take the hook out of a 150 inch fish! Yes, it was huge! Biggest marlin ever caught and released on Fish Rowe Charters. My big kicker is this guy’s wife took a photo after the first marlin and we got a couple of photos. He was beat and asked to go bottom fishing. As we were on the way to do some bottom fishing, the rod went off and started singing and sang and sang, throttles in full reverse as line vanished! Little did he know that 23 minutes from the time that first photo was taken he would be hooked to a monster!!

I guess the fishing is pretty darn good in The Exumas! More to come in July.
