Now that June is here, the fishing should remain very good for the entire month. Strong catches of mahi-mahi will continue. Highbourne Cay and surrounding areas will be hot fishing for white and blue marlin. Tuna will be on the move following massive schools of bait. For tuna, a plain cedar plug on 100-pound test (or lighter) should produce not only tuna but mahi and possible marlin strikes. Wahoo will all but be gone so I wouldn’t worry about fishing The Wall too much. For marlin hunters, go big on lures and a ten knot troll to cover the ground is what I would recommend. Blue and white lures will always be strong here and will catch anything that swims. Bottom fishing should also be productive and slightly warming waters will keep fish active. Yellow tail fishing on the reef and grouper shouldn’t be hard to catch.
