[dropcap]T[/dropcap]his will be the last month of summer to get in some good fishing. Water temperatures will be the main factor for August. Marlin will stay around until the end of the month. Yellowfin tuna will also be in the area. An early morning outing and late afternoon should actually be pretty good. Cedar plugs and swimming ballyhoo for the tuna and big marlin lures should get someone’s attention! Marlin to 500-pounds could be possible. We have seen several so far this summer to that size.

Bottom fishing should be okay. I would look for reefs in a little deeper water around 100 feet where bottom fish will be trying to stay cool. Deep dropping will also be fair this month as fish seem to be moving for cooler waters as well.

Tight lines!
