A large field of 214 anglers competed in this first tournament of the FLW-BFL-Gator Division season. It took 31.0 lbs even brought in by George Kapiton to best the field. Fishing the north shore and the Harney Pond area, George was able to dial in on staging fish.
Many local personalities fished the tournament with Ken Harris of Zolfo Springs topping the list with a 15th place overall finish with a weight of 18.687lbs. Other locals fishing the tournament included: Clark Bundy, Ron Veale, Bruce Carter, Fred George, Kyle Monti, Justin Morgan of Okeechobee; Mike Young, Moses Wilson, Hunter Abowd, Edward White, and Kelly Autrey of Clewiston; Brianne McMillan, Jeff McMillan, and Jared McMillan of Belle Glade; Mike Jones of Canal Point; Norman Lee, Les Swann III, and Brandon Medlock of Lake Placid; Nick Tidwell and John Tavano of Sebring; and Charlie Bass of Felda.
