I t seems that this time of year I’m constantly in some stage of transition! Whether it’s putting away the steelhead gear, trying to find my dry fly boxes, rigging trout, and pike rods. Just trying to “tool up”. At some point I looked at my trout streamer box and became very dejected. As tiers we all have produced some concoctions that baffle the mind. My streamer selection looked atrocious! I remember having a conversation with a fellow guide. He stated that if he could only have one fly, it would be a black leech and I would agree. After viewing my streamer box and not having a reasonable leech imitation I began to tie this rabbit leech in black, white and tan in order to bring my streamer selection back to a state of respectability! It’s a basic fly that produces…Enjoy the warmer weather!
