[dropcap]H[/dropcap]ey guys, what a hot summer this has turn out to be; much hotter than last summer but as mama use to say, if you can’t stand the heat stay out of the kitchen. The fishing is still great if you can handle the warmer weather. Bonefish have moved off most of the flats into deeper water, but on some flats where the water is moving strong, it’s cooler so you can find bonefish in that kind of area, like in a creek mouth or on the ocean side flats.

There are still so much other fish to fish for besides bones. Permit are on the flats here in East Grand Bahama, and the reefs and channels are full of life—mutton, yellowtails, and gray snappers are all spawning—and now even jacks are around, so the fun never ends. Even though the sun is hot, the fishing is hotter!

The other day I had some clients out. We fished in the morning and did some snorkeling in the afternoon, a great way to beat the heat!
