Summer is here again, and summer is a time to be if not in the water, to be on the water. It’s also a great time for fishing, but for the fishermen, we call these catching times. There are two good reasons for happy fish this time of the year, the weather is normally good and most of the fish are in spawning mode. I just love to fish happy fish. It makes the fishing guide look good and the angler look better.

This is also a great time for those first time fisherman. This is a great time for you because the opportunity to catch some fish is great. Here in Grand Bahama, we do not have a hot summer as yet, so the water temperature is good for the fish. There are lots of bonefish on the flats here in East Grand Bahama. We are also getting lots of shots at permit we are seeing schools of barracudas.  The channels and reef are alive with mutton, gray and yellowtail snappers, jacks and many more. You can use spinning gear or a fly rod, lure or live bait, whatever makes you happy. All I can say is come on let’s go fishing.
