May is here again and you know the pond has to be restocked for the fun to continue, so this is the time when most of the fish will gather in large schools to spawn—this includes most of the various types of inshore fish—bonefish, mutton snapper, barracuda, jacks and much more.

Sometimes because of this, you many not find the fish spread out over the flats, reefs or channels but just in some parts.  This may make the fish a little harder to find but when you find them, it will be the honey hole.

Here in Grand Bahama this a great time for catching. As a fishing guide, I love these times for beginners or kids because it makes my job easy with all the chances for hooking up. You don’t need as much skill when conditions are like this, but fishing is not about skill level—it’s about keeping the fun in the game.
