Man, these months are rolling by! I had so much fun on the water in April with some of my friends, it may be too much fun for one person to have. We got in to so much bonefish and we had lots of casts at permit. Even though April was great, I am looking forward to May. Some people believe that May is one of the best fishing months in the Bahamas, but I believe that every month is just a little different from the next.

Bone fishing in May means more schooling fish and bigger schools, since most of the bonefish are getting ready for the spawning season. The fish are definitely here and it seem like the size of fish in these schools are bigger than they were last year. Grand Bahama has some of the biggest bonefish in the Bahamas, but this year, the average seems like 3.5- to 4.0-pound.  Catching any bonefish is fun, but every now and again you would like to hookup on a big one.

Here in East Grand Bahama, there are permit on the flats, so if you want to fish for permit you can get some shots. Besides bonefish and permit, there are many other fish to have fun catching, for instance barracuda, shark, jacks, and mutton snapper, just to name a few.

The flats (and fish) of East Grand Bahama are here waiting for you!
