Grand Bahama Offshore Fishing Forecast – November 2011

The yellowfin tuna have been around Grand Bahama Island in great numbers, particularly out front of Settlement Point in West End. Most of these have been in the range of 35 to 50 pounds. We have been using sardines and chucking them up. To make things even better, we are having a great early wahoo bite. With the latest front moving through, the water temperatures are cooling down to “wahoo temperature.” We have been doing well north of Memory Rock near The Corner trolling with “Wahoo Whackers” working the ledge from 200 to 600 feet at speeds of 11 to 13 knots. One Friday afternoon we went out and caught 10 wahoo ranging from 25 pounds to 60 pounds in only four hours. So if you are planning a weekend trip to Grand Bahama over the next several weeks, you can be assured some great offshore action. The summer doldrums are definitely OVER!
