The Angler Magazine of Upstate NY has attained something so cool for our readers that I had to tell you in my bio on PAGE 1. We were given a participant marshal seat for The Bassmaster’s Elite Series on The St. Lawrence River (July20-23) to gift to an Upstate NY Anglers through a giveaway. The Elite Series is the top level of professional Bass fishing and features the “World’s Top Bass Fishermen”. These national professionals love to compete right here in Upstate NY, fishermen’s paradise. Each professional angler’s boat is manned by an ESPN camera crew and a marshal, whose primary role is to maintain the integrity of the “Elite Series” rules. The marshal seat was offered to The Angler at a strategy session at Seaway Smokehouse in Waddington, NY.
The Village of Waddington who hosts the highest-level fishing contest inside a 4-day long river festival, www.waddingtonpartyinthepark.com. The event organizers wanted to reach out to the grass-roots readers of The Angler Magazine to invite the Upstate NY angling community up for a wonderful summer weekend. Explore or re-visit this majestic river and learn top notch tactics from the fishing elite, right here in our backyard. That is the biggest talking point with bass fishermen that I have shared this marshal seat opportunity with, the lucky winner will have access to leading professionals’ tactics and adjustments during the contest.
The organizers wanted to expose the St. Lawrence to as many NY Anglers’ and wanted a winner of this marshal seat to be a local Upstate fisherman. They gave us discretion to form a contest that accomplished both, with a desire to highlight the beauty of our world-famous River. We consulted with a local grass roots fishing organization, the Underground Fishing League, who is a regular contributor to The Angler. The UFL members heavily fish the river near Alexandria Bay and know the river well. Together we concocted a contest that will gift a lucky “local” angler the marshal seat while showcasing the beauty of the St. Lawrence.

Visit Alexandria Bay during the month of June and receive a raffle entry to be a participant marshal July 20-23 for Bassmaster “Elite Series” in Waddington, NY on the St. Lawrence River.
