“Fishing in Alaska was an unforgettable, beautiful experience. I was introduced to so many new species. I love learning new ways of fishing and learning about habitats, bait, rigs, seasons, weather, time of day etc. for different species. When I was given the opportunity to fish Alaska, I didn’t hesitate. The ride out was roughly an hour long. The views were incredible. My stepdad and I dropped lines about 250 feet down. After close to three hours of fishing, two silver-gray rockfish, one cod, and four halibut were landed. The halibut was so strong. It felt like forever before I finally had it in the boat. I have a lot of respect for the fight they have in them. I know Halibut gets massive, and I like a challenge so fishing Alaska again will definitely be in the books for me. Hopefully the next one landed will be a lot bigger. I would love to try to target different fish there, and gain knowledge on fishing Alaskan waters. Although most of the fishing I do is catch and release, all of the fish caught were filleted and shipped home. It was an absolutely incredible trip, and I can’t wait to see what the future holds for me. The excitement of not knowing what could be at the end of my line next, will never get old.”
