Kissimmee Chain

Bass fishing in the Kissimmee Chain is slowly improving. But the Bass are still on the move daily. Anywhere from 1 ½ feet to 7 feet of water up to ¼ mile off shore.

Offshore bass are following the Shad pods and look for this trend to continue until lake levels rise. Until that occurs follow the pods of Shad and throw ¼ oz Blue Chrome Rattle Traps or Strick King red eye Shad. BuzzBaits and watermelon red pearl Zoom Super Flukes can be very affective.

Trophy class Bass can be found in the cuts running through the thick pad fields in 4-5 feet of water. Try a 1/2oz to 1 ounce jig Black & Blue with a Black Blue Strick King rage craw. A Reaction Innovations Skinny Dipper on a 1/4oz weight Black Blue with a punch skirt will work as well in these areas. Best places to fish on Lake kissimmee at this time are Gobblers Ridge, Philadelphia Point, Grassy Island, Eagles Nest and Lake Hatchineha is also producing some good Trophy Class Bass at this time. Try pitching a 5” Yamamoto Senko weightless on the North Buggy Whip Line.

Speckled Perch have moved to deeper water throughout most of the chain. Best places to fish are Lake Rosalie during the day fish 10-14 feet of water. Long lining 1/8oz Chrome Rattle Traps. White or Chartreuse Road Runners tipped with a minnow or a Southern Pro Plastics white triple tail grub. Other hot spots include the house glass on Lake Hatchineha and Cypress Canal, a slip cork rig and minnow rig is your best bet.

Big Bream in good numbers are being caught on Lake Kissimmee in heavy padded areas. Eagles Nest, Gobbler’s Ridge and Tiger Cove are your best bet for action Red Worms and Cricketts are the best producers.
