Lake Blackshear Forecast: Sept 2013

lakeblackshear
Bass fishing is tough right now. Hot weather and a lot of rain equals hit and miss fishing. Better bass can be found on docks in the month of September. Try shaky heads with green pumpkin and dark colors on main-lake docks between Pecan Creek and Hotel slough. Some good bass are also coming in Swift Creek with this same technique. If you like topwater action, try throwing SPRO frogs in the thick grass and cover in the backs of Cedar Creek, Gum Creek and in Collins slough. As the river clears, good bass will start coming up from the river through September and into October around blowdowns and in current and can be caught on jigs and crankbaits. Backwater ponds are also producing some good bass for the frog fishermen.
