Lake Lanier Crappie Fishing Report: Dec 2013

crappie

Water temperature is in the 60’s and the crappie bite is the best I have seen in a couple of years. The fish are staying in 12-25 ft of water. It is not hard to get a limit of fish. I have been slow trolling about .5 miles an hour fishing minnows at 8-15 ft deep getting a lot of fish this way. Later in the day, I am finding brush in 15-25 ft of water and vertical fish the brush with minnows. This is working great. Get out and catch some fish. Anyone can kill a deer. On a sad note, we lost a great crappie fisherman, Tony Stanton. He was one of the best dock shooters I have ever had the pleasure to know. He is going to be missed by many. Please send prayers out to his family as they get through this. Come by Wahoo Bait shop and let’s talk some crappie fishing! Be safe!!
