LAKE PLACID TEAM TRAIL 2014-2015 CLASSIC

The Lake Placid Team Trail ended its 2014-2015 season with their annual classic held on Lake Placid, Sunday, May 17th, 2015.

The weather was nice with temperatures in the high 80’s, light east winds and very high humidity. Eleven teams competed in the event and combined, weighed in eleven 5-bass limits for a total of 55 bass. 53 bass were release alive.

The team of Converse and Converse won the event with 5 bass weighing 23.03 pounds and the big bass of the day, a beautiful 9.93 pounder. First place netted the team $1360.00, plus the big bass jackpot of $150.00 for a total of $1510.00.

Second Place went to the team of Huber and Karoll with 5 bass weighing in at 20.59 pounds. They received a check for $680.00.

Third Place went to the team of McGinnis and Watson with 5 bass weighing in at 20.16 pounds. They received a check for $410.00, and missed second place big bass by 17/100’s of a pound. Their big fish weighed 7.01 pounds.

Fourth Place went to the team of Markham and Carr with 5 bass weighing in at 18.48 pounds. They received a check for $280, plus another $100 for the second largest bass at 7.18 pounds.

In fifth place and just out of the money was the team of Dubois and Cargilla with 5 bass weighing in at 18.03 pounds. Their biggest bass weighed 6.39 pounds.

The team of Bill and Austin Springer were the 2014-2015 leaders in points for the year, finishing in first place. They will each receive custom built fishing rods from D. O. Norton with the inscription “Lake Placid Team Trail Champions for 2014-2015.

Club members have until July 1st to sign up for the 2015-2016 season. After July 1st, there will be open registration until September for any new members interested in fishing the trail.
