Lakeside Stables and Boat Rentals

One of the pleasures of living in the Sebring area is the variety of outdoor activities one can participate in. For me, I enjoy fishing, kayaking, and exploring. At Lakeside Stables I can do all three. Located on Arbuckle Creek just north of US Hwy 98, this small gem offers some of the best rustic and natural settings in the area. Whether you bring your own canoe, kayak, or rent one of theirs, you’ll have a picturesque day cruising the river. If you head south you’re just a short paddle to Lake Istokpoga which at 27,692 acres is Florida’s fifth largest lake.

There you’ll find world class bass fishing as well as specks and other panfish. Head north and you’ll encounter moss filled cypress swamps, grass prairies, oak hammocks, ranch-lands, and lots of native wildlife.

Thinking of overnighting or spending the week, camp and RV sites are available right along the creek bank. Looking for something more to do, Lakeside Stables has horseback trail riding for both experienced and inexperienced riders. Want to ride more but can’t afford to buy a horse, why not lease a horse. Lakeside Stables has leasing options available which for a monthly fee you can ride at your convenience without the hassle of feeding, daily care, and veterinary and blacksmithing needs. You get to enjoy the fun of riding without all the work that goes along with horse ownership. Lakeside Stables is also kid friendly. Beside the camping, water sports, and horseback riding, the facility has plenty of barn yard animals, ducks, exotic birds, and exotic critters. They also offer Summer Day Camp for when the kids are out of school.

For me, spending a day cruising on my kayak and exploring the wilderness of Arbuckle Creek is time well spent.
