With the cold fronts starting to drift further to the south, it means cooler air and cooler water temperatures. The hurricane season is almost over, and the fish are definitely snapping. Wahoo have shown up from the Abacos south to San Salvador. This past week several wahoo were caught in the 60 to70 range. Gary Tullius, with Black Bart Lures, caught two around the 100 pound mark. Elvis Bastian, fishing a 28’ Henriques, caught seven wahoo with one tipping the scales at 102 pounds, along with a blue marlin about 250 pounds. Also some nice yellowfin tuna in the 80 pound range have been picked up. This is early in the season!

Next month should bring fantastic fishing. We would suggest trolling baits or lures with bright colored skirts. Crooked Island Candy lures in green and black work extremely well also. If heading to San Salvador make sure to call ahead and check the weather to ensure a good traveling window.
