Lure of the Month: DOA Finesse Worm

For years DOA Lures has built a reputation as the go-to soft bait for offshore and inshore species. These lures were so productive that many die hard DOA fans started using these baits for freshwater bass and similar species. Over the past few years DOA began introducing a freshwater product line and this year they have added four new baits to this series, a 5” swim bait, a 4” shad, a 8” trick worm, and a 5” finesse worm.

The 5” Finesse worm has a proven design that exceeds industry standards for durability while maintaining the subtle action you need in a finesse presentation. The bait comes in Watermelon Seed (334), Watermelon Holographic (425), Black (361), Black w/Blue Glitter (357), June Bug (352), and Avocado Red Glitter (371).

Fishing with finesse baits is like throwing a change-up pitch in baseball. Bass tend to be fussy and picky eaters. During times of heavy fishing pressure a bass will see a lot of lures and a lot of run and gun anglers. The purpose of the finesse bait is to present a change-up pitch, a small bait on light tackle with a low entry profile into the water. By using a slow retrieve you’ll be presenting an easy meal to a weary fish.
