Celebrating 28 years of tradition, this year the Treasure Coast Builder Association Memorial Weekend Fishing Tournament, scheduled for Saturday, May 24, has been sanctioned by the Southern Kingfish Association. Comprised of both inshore and offshore divisions, cash prizes in the offshore division will be paid to first, second and third place in five categories (heaviest dolphin, king, wahoo, snapper and grouper). The inshore division will be a catch and release event. Teams will submit digital images of their largest snook, trout or redfish. The highest total combined inches will determine the winners.
There will be one matching weight prize possibility for the winners of the dolphin and king divisions. If the weight in hundredths of a pound matches a randomly selected number between 00 and 99, then the division winner will also collect an additional $20,000 cash or a boat valued at $20,000.
Tournament activities will be based at Pirates Cove Resort and Marina in Port Salerno. Boat entries will be accepted until 6 p.m., Friday, May 23, when the Captain’s reception, also at Pirates Cove Resort, begins.
Official weigh-in and digital photo station will open on Saturday, May 24, from noon to 4 p.m. Awards celebration begins at 5 p.m.
TCBA anglers will be able to check out of Fort Pierce or St. Lucie Inlet.
