[dropcap]J[/dropcap]une is here and finally some decent weather! The bay still looks rough from all of the rain, but the fishing is heating up like the days. The summer patterns are finally starting to settle in and the trout and redfish are on the feed. Dauphin Island is the hot spot right now. The lower bay rigs are starting to hold some fish, but Katrina cut and the West end is where the action is for now. You can either wade fish the beaches throwing suspend baits like catch 2000 or Mirrodines. Katrina cut, live shrimp under a popping cork or live croakers free lined seem to be the ticket. Hopefully, we won’t see any more rain and the bay can finally clear up. Look for the lower bay rigs to start holding fish once the waters clear up and come back to normal. Until then, pack the kiddos up and head down to the beach for some summer time fun filling the cooler and then playing along the beaches. See ya on the water!!
