The month of July is when the tuna fishing is in full swing around

Nassau/Paradise Island waters. The blackfin tuna are here in great numbers already and also the skipjack tuna. The yellowfin tuna should be right in the mix or close behind. A few mahi-mahi and wahoo are still being caught in the mix with the tuna and amongst the weed lines. The flocks of birds are the sign the tuna are here. I have been catching some nice blackfins up to 30 pounds and marlin that are feeding on the small tuna. I expect the yellows to be here in the 60 pound plus range. When the bite is on, you can catch up to a dozen or more tuna in an hour or so or until your arms give out. The lighter tackle is the way to go for the smaller tuna but when the bigger ones show up, better be ready with the heavier gear. The weather has been great except for few rain showers but that is normal for this time of the year and it definitely won’t stop the fish from biting. So gear up and get out on the Reel Deal and get your bite on.
