The month of April has been up and down with fishing around Nassau, but we were still able to catch our share of fish. The mahi-mahi have started to show up pretty well now and finding birds, weedlines and floating debris is the ticket for finding them.

Trolling with lures rigged with ballyhoo is a top choice, but when the mahi-mahi are biting, they don’t care what you’ve got on the end of the hook. May is looking good for the annual run of the dolphin with some reports already saying they are schooling in good numbers. Also starting to show up are a few billfish, so you never know what will be under the birds or seaweed feeding when you approach, so keep a sharp look out if they decide to crash the party.

Make sure you have some heavier gear on board for the “quick switch”. Offshore fishing in and around Nassau/Paradise Island, like the rest of the Bahamas, will really start to “heat up” over the next couple of months. So let’s get out there on the Reel Deal and catch your share.

Tight lines everyone!
