April is a good time of the year when we catch a variety of game fish from mahi to marlin. March has been good to us with an abundance of mahi and some tuna, with an occasional marlin in the mix.

In April, the weather is usually fair with a few calm days and a chop here and there; that said, every day is different. Finding the birds and seaweed are the key to find the fish, and catching them is another thing. Ballyhoo is the main bait of choice, but lures work as well.

Some nice bull dolphins and cows are being caught, with some of the bulls being in the 50-pound range. They put up a good fight. Small schools of mahi are being found, but as we get into the mahi fishing season, the schools will increase in size.

So come on down to Nassau/Paradise Island and let’s go catching on the Reel Deal.
