As the weather patterns change from summer/fall to fall/winter, November is typically the time when the wahoo start to run. The cold fronts starting to push off the southeast U.S. coast bring in a temperature change that definitely gets the ‘hoos going. During the last part of October, we caught our share of wahoo and mahi-mahi. Trolling the ledges has been very productive with ballyhoo and lures, with some 40 pounders being caught. Get your weights and downriggers out. Even though I have been catching them close to the surface, it is still a good idea to get a few baits down deep. Also do not forget to “up” your trolling speed. So, as the season gets into full swing, the wahoo are here already and sure enough November is going to be on fire meaning your reels are going to be “smoking” with the angler screaming “WAAAHOOOOO!” So come on down to Nassau and Paradise Island and get on the Reel Deal for some smoking hot action.
