During the month of October, we start fishing the ledges because the offshore bite has slowed down a lot. The reef fishing is still great both on the bottom and on the troll.

Yellowtail snapper, barracuda and many other species can be caught on the bottom and a good time can be had by all. Trolling the ledges recently, we have been catching some wahoo, barracuda and kingfish. Now is a good time to change out from the mono leaders to the wire or cable leaders for these toothy critters because the wahoo bite will do nothing but get better as the water cools. Ballyhoo still is the preferred bait for trolling but you can start using your favorite lures again.

Bottom fishing we use squid and any other type that is hard for the fish to take off the hook. The fishing is still great but once you are willing to change up our tactics a little, you can produce some nice fish.

So get ready and geared up for some great fishing in Nassau/Paradise Island on the Reel Deal.
