The top two targeted offshore species during the month of June will be yellowfin tuna and mutton snapper.

Yellowfin tuna are caught by trolling either ballyhoo with skirts or X-Raps. Mutton snapper can be caught either using goggle eyes or cut squid. Yellowfin tuna can be caught at Shallow Ground Bar off of Harbour Island or Dutch Bar off of Spanish Wells. Mutton snapper can be caught in channels and outside the reef in depths from 20 to 60 feet. Best tackle for yellowfin and mutton snapper is rod and reel.

On the flats of Eleuthera the bonefishing will really be heating up. Fly rod or spinning gear works equally well. It just depends on your preference. Both artificial and natural baits will work well.
