During August, the main event and species will be lobster. On August 1st the rock lobster season opens which the majority of people will be after. You can find these in the reef and the tool of choice is a Hawaiian sling and spear. Also yellowtail snapper are around in force for August. You can catch these on the outside of the reef in depths from 20 to 90 feet of water. You will use a spinning rod with a flat line hook and also using a chum bag. Also, yellow fin tuna will be around during August. And these can be caught with either live bait or trolling X-Raps or other skirts with ballyhoo.
