[dropcap]C[/dropcap]hristmas season is just around the corner and divers will be getting a surprise gift this year—warmer water! Instead of the normal 75-to-78° F, temperatures are likely to be 79-to-81° F range, as evidenced in November.

No hurricane damage was reported in North Eleuthera/Harbour Island area, divers can look forward to enjoying lots of underwater life, and they may get away with only a shorty wetsuit. We have been seeing turtles, stingrays, eels, lobster, dolphin and sharks. There are plenty of reef fish, shrimp, squid, and smaller creatures to view. And, we also have some large shipwrecks that sit in 25-to-30-feet of water to explore, which are great for snorkelers as well as divers. Many boaters will be cruising into the marinas on Harbour Island to sample the great food, lively bars, music, pink sand beaches, and varied watersports. Beach picnics are great fun, there are historical caves to explore, and relaxing poolside while the kids take some scuba lessons—it’s all here!

See you on the ocean!
