July will still be a great month for mutton snapper, which can be caught using squid or goggle eye bait with spinning rods. These can be caught just outside the reef or in the different channels. Yellowfin tuna will be good for July. These are caught at either Dutch Bar or Shallow Ground points of the bar. These can be caught either trolling with X-Raps or ballyhoo and the best bait is live bait. These can be caught using conventional rod and reels. King mackerel will be good for July. These can also be caught trolling using X-Raps or jigging with live bait. Best locations would be in 40 to 70 feet of water around the points of bar and outside the reef using conventional rod and reels.
