The bite for this month has been incredible fishing inshore from Gulf Shores/Orange to Pensacola! Fishing the shallow flats at daylight and dusk has been producing trophy trout and redfish. As always, a matrix shad soft plastic and a 1/4oz jig head have proven top notch for locating the fish.
With the warmer weather also brings the schooling fish such as mackerel, bluefish, skipjacks and bonita. A light action rod with a 1/2oz casting spoon with a quick retrieve seems irresistible to them, as most of the time you will notice them in a feeding frenzy on the surface. Throw a cast past the school and dragging it through them will do the trick.

Tight lines and best of luck out there on the water.
