The key to fishing here in August is to beat the heat. If you can do that, you are in for some of the best fishing of the year. The trout and redfish are biting early and late in the day on the grass flats all over the bays. Reports from West Bay and East Bay seem to be where the bigger trout are being caught.
The heat is on in the bay, literally! With hot summer weather having settled in, the heat will dictate when and where you need to be fishing in Panama City Beach and Panama City. Just like us humans, fish don't like it when it gets too hot. So if you are fishing for trout and redfish, it's best to get after them early in the morning or late in the afternoon. The trout and reds are plentiful on the flats. The big trout can be caught at daybreak right up on the bank.
April is a great time of year to be out on our area bays and coastal waters. The water and air temps are up and all the little critters are busy doing their spring thing.
