July is always a fun month but also a hot one! Fireworks, hot dogs, American flags, and summer fishing!! I love getting up early this time of the year with the sun rising earlier whether it be to fish inshore or offshore. I spend a lot of time fishing tide swings at the inlet for reds and snook this time of the year, that sunrise bite can be epic. As fast as it starts it will shut off so you have to be there when it counts. Croaker, pin fish, blue crab (halved), and shrimp will produce fish! Don’t forget to take some mud minnows as that summer flounder bite will also turn on! One of my favorite things to do in July is follow the shrimp boats, man can it be a bunch of action for people. You will find Tarpon, Bonita, and I have even got a couple blackfin behind them, but you’re almost certainly going to get yourself some fun toothy critters to pull on. I’ve caught more sharks behind the shrimp boats than I could ever count! Summer is here, get out there early to beat the heat, and have some fun in July!
