Round #2 of the 2015 Bossman Redfish Series sponsored in part by Mercury Marine had another cold & windy tournament day, but despite the weather & the Valentine’s
Day holiday, 102 anglers braved the conditions. Out of the 53 teams, 35 weighed fish in. First place team of Matt Preston & Eddie Porcelli weighed in a total of 14.54lbs & took home $3,060 plus the Big Fish Calcutta prize of $880 with a Red that was a record breaking 7.57lbs. Second place prize of $1,224 went to Tom Kelley & Mike Brockman with a total weight of 13.6lbs. Carolyn Clinkscales & Scott Laney took the 3rd place prize of $918 with 13.55lbs. Weighing in 13.25lbs & placing fourth was Brett Kirby & Evan Ott, who took home $612. And the fifth place prize of $306 went to Rich Thomas & Bob Collins with 13.13lbs. The Junior Angler award of $50 went to Cade Ferguson with a Red weighing 3.89lbs & the $150 Lady Angler honor went to Heather Metchick with 6.98lbs. And because it was Valentine’s Day, each lady angler entered also received roses & chocolates compliments of Bossman. The series’ full results & standings are posted on the tournament’s website.
Round #3 of the 5 tournament series is March 14 at The Fishing Store & Outrigger’s Tiki Bar & Grille. It’s not too late for new anglers to join in; registration will be the morning of the tournament. The Bossman Series has proven to be a great family tournament for all levels of anglers & the weigh-in from 2-3pm has been found to be a great spectator sport as well.
