Today, fishing and boatbuilding remain the marine backbones of Stuart, Florida, this flourishing not-so-small town. The appreciation for and preservation of these vessels built in the Stuart area receive worldwide recognition. So much so that the legendary builder of Rybovich boats and a dozen or so owners of these fine vessels are charting their course to rendezvous in Stuart on October 12, 13 & 14.
Join Rybovich lovers and enthusiasts of all wooden boats for a private display and first-ever, “Parade of Rybovich” on the St. Lucie River as wooden boats of all makes and vintages join in, in recognition of Stuart’s maritime history as Martin County celebrates “Historic Preservation Month” during October.
Spectators may view the boats lining the docks and meet local marine artisans, historians, authors and boat builders at Sunset Bay Marina on Saturday, October 13th from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. At 5:00 p.m., the presentation and signing of the incredible, 600 plus page Rybovich Book, by author Pat Rybovich will take place in the courtyard. On Sunday the fun continues with a first- ever ‘Parade of Rybovich’ beginning at noon. Parade vantage points are under the Roosevelt Bridge, along the Downtown Riverwalk and at Sandsprit Park, where the rendezvous will then depart.
