Captain & The Kids strives to always promote youth anglers both at the local level as well as nationally through our “Youth Angler Program.” If it was not for passing down techniques, traditions, and the love for the water, it would slowly fade away. It is our mission to always instill conservation and ethical fishing to our youth!
Capt. Evan and his youth anglers of the month Mikey Stamps & his best friend Quintin Ray pointed the Tidewater 27 Custom East and headed offshore for some rod bending action! They started out the morning bottom fishing 18 miles offshore from Ponce Inlet, Fl targeting lane snapper, trigger fish, vermillion snapper, and more. After catching a handful of lane snapper, the flatline rod bent over and the line started peeling off! Quintin and Mikey both dropped the rods that were in their hands and worked as a team to start cranking on the flatline rod! After fighting the fish for 5 to 10 minutes they had color and saw a 43 inch and 35-pound cobia at the end of the line! Capt. Evan landed the cobia in the boat and both boys were ecstatic jumping up and down yelling, “WE GOT A COBIA!” It is moments and memories like this that makes Captain & The Kids so special.
