South Eleuthera Dive Forecast – March 2011

It may be redundant to say that diving in South Eleuthera is great, but it is true.

March is truly one of the best months. Why? Because the water is warming up and by the end of the month it should be close to 80-degrees. Early in the month, a 3mm wetsuit will help keep the chill off but is not necessary. What makes March one of the best months is that the winter winds have backed off and in South Eleuthera the winds will shift from the northeast to the southeast but generally be only in the 10-to-15 knot range. Spring visitors are beginning to arrive but the bulk of Eleuthera diving enthusiasts won’t be arriving for another several weeks. So, you’ll have plenty of room on most dive boats operating out of South Eleuthera.

Nassau grouper season re-opened March 1, so free divers and spearfishing fans get out those Hawaiian slings and treat yourself, your family, and your friends to a great grouper dinner.

Come on down and explore the undersea beauty of South Eleuthera.
