Well anglers, summer is definitely in full swing. Fishing is hit and miss on trolling, but when you do hit, the fish are big! Large bull and cow mahi-mahi are around with cero mackerel as well. Marlin are here, but you have to watch your lines at all times. Short baits for marlin work the best and teasing them in works even better. If you don’t know how to bait and switch please read up on this technique for some great excitement. Amazing things always happen in the Bahamas and the month of August is no different. Trolling deep diving lures in 20 to 30 feet of water over sand will give you a big surprise. Mutton snapper are running 8 to 10 pounds with this method. Try trolling around some structure or reefs and here come the black grouper and rockfish. When in the Bahamas be ready to change your methods and always watch moon and tide for success.
