Dear anglers, February is here and the wind is still out of the south more often than not. Wahoo are still running big and often. Same pattern as always. High speed trolling with large shock leaders and the normal skirts with black, red and blue. Trolling weights help you get the bait down to the wahoo, but you can never do better than a downrigger. Downriggers also produce kings, and if you use them shallow, you can catch some nice mutton snapper. Unusually large pods of fresh weeds are showing up and that brings tuna and of course mahi mahi. Not that big, but excellent to eat and catch. Continue to change your spread speed and bait, and you will catch more fish. That’s all for now.
Tight lines and smile.
