South Eleuthera has enjoyed a great spring and the early summer is looking really good as well, as Mother Nature offers up calm seas for all fishing enthusiasts. With large counts of bait pods and flying fish around South Eleuthera, the marlins, underwater zebras and tunas have been consistently found by heading to north Cat Island back across the Bridge and up to Tommy’s Point on the west side of South Eleuthera.  The bait fish are keeping the big boys around, as the water temperatures are just right and look to be well into July. In fact, a 350-foot blue marlin was just released right outside of Davis Harbour Marina in 300 feet of water.  And the dolphin bite continues to be strong between Tommy’s Point and the Bridge with all the bait fish hanging around. Coming into July, the bite is going to be world-class back along the Bridge with marlin, dolphin and tuna.  For the yellowfin tuna, the Red Eyes Lures, aluminum daisy chains are finding the most success.  And for those seeking strong bottom fishing, the captains are finding success on the west side of South Eleuthera up to Tommy’s Point in 45 feet to 65 feet of water with the mutton snapper bite.  For the real adventurous, go out on both sides of the full moon.
