SUWANNEE

Hey everyone, let’s talk fall fishing! Fall fishing, is by far one of my favorite times of the year. The red bite is strong and the trout, both specks and silvers flood the flats!

We have already seen an increase in the redfish bite and the trout bite has been increasing, already including some nice gator trout.

My favorite way to fish for both species in the fall, is with a B-52 popping cork, paired with a 1/8 Jim’s Jig. Bait wise, cut mullet or shrimp for the reds, and for trout a 3 inch, 12 fathom mullet paddle tail, works wonders.

When targeting these species, I will be looking for the trout in 2 to 4 feet of water, especially, once the water dips below 80 degrees. With the reds, I love fishing oyster beds around the mouth of the river, and creeks on a moving tide.

Last month, I had a unique opportunity to have a local business book me, to shoot a promo commercial on the water. They are called Bearded Outdoors, based in Cheifland, Florida. They have an amazing clothing line for both hunting and fishing, and even cater to us bearded people, with beard oil and beard balm. Their slogan says a lot about them. Faith, Beards, and The Great Outdoors. They even tied their faith into their logo with a cross thrown on a deer antler. Y’all can check them out at beardedoutdoorsusa.com
Well everyone until next month, stay safe out there and have fun!
