Tim’s Fords Fishing Report: March 2014

BASS

By Capt. Jake Davis

Over the past few weeks, we’ve enjoyed a good jig, crankbait and Carolina rig bite in 10 to 25 feet of water. Water temperatures improved to the 48-55 degree range, moving smallmouth and largemouth alike to pre-spawn staging areas throughout the lake. Crappie action is good on docks and brush in the 10-20 feet range. Concentrate early on main lake points working your way back into pockets a short distance, close to the spawning areas. Probing main lake gravel rounds and flats with SPRO Little John DD crankbaits, Missile Baits Fuse 4.4 on a Carolina rig and Tightline football head jigs are a great way to boat a monster fish. As a reminder, please wear your PFDs and beware of your surroundings, boating accidents can happen to anyone! Make your reservations now for some great spring action on Guntersville or Tim’s Ford. We supply all fishing gear, rods, reels, lures, including A-rigs at no additional cost you, Military Discount and 100% dedication to making your trip successful. “Let’s go fish’ in”
