On August 19th, we held our kick off tournament of the new season for the Treasure Coast Casters Junior Division. We had beautiful weather, but the fishing was a little slow. There were a total of twenty-one juniors who fished!
I guess you can say that catfish was the “fish of the day”. Mackenzie Tessier caught the first one and then came back to the scales with three more. Brayden Adams caught the only flounder. Thomas Parramore was next with a lane snapper and Kaitlyn Ward was right behind him with a catfish. Dean Buxton was next with a lane snapper and Jessica Eastland also had a catfish. Chase Spells had a catfish as did Marcus Schubart. All fish were released!
- 1st Place – Mackenzie Tessier – 4th grade – Imagine School – Vero Beach
- 2nd Place – Marcus Schubart – 1st grade – Lakewood Park Elem. – Ft. Pierce
- 3rd Place – Brayden Adams – 1st grade – F.K. Sweet – Ft. Pierce
Biggest fish of the tournament trophy went to Mackenzie Tessier for her 1 pound 3 ounce catfish. Mackenzie also received a rod and reel combo donated by The Fishing Center. Every junior that fished received a goodie bag with items from Culprit/Riptide and Treasure Coast Casters.
Our next from-shore tournament will be on Sunday October 14th.
