Wind, Water and Waves Bimini Forecast – December 2012

December is upon us, and for the Biminis that means, wind, wind, wind! The start of the kite season in Bimini is owed to Hurricane Sandy with her crazy, intense gusty winds, and now we are enjoying a more mild consistent wind. Bimini’s prevailing east north-east wind direction makes the flats off of North Bimini the most convenient and ideal place to kite. Both beginners and advanced riders can come and enjoy the stillwarm waters, and shallow flats.

Paddleboarding and kayaking tours in the mangroves are also popular choices, as the newly established Martin Luther King Jr. monument has been unveiled and is open to visitors looking to walk, or in this case paddle, in the footsteps of the international peacemaker himself. The tour leads you through winding, tranquil mangrove paths full of nature that stops where Dr. King wrote his Nobel Peace Prize acceptance speech.

Come visit us and experience the beauty and adventure that Bimini has to offer for you!
