The holidays brought the outer islands of the Bahamas plenty of gifts this season starting off with a mild cold front that tiptoed its way down the chain. By the time it reached San Salvador, Rum Cay and Long Island the temperature change was barely noticeable, however the winds and waves that it produced were heard loud and clear. Guys were stoked to finally use their small kites and sails at the tail end of December on into the New Year. Winds were marching strong from the north for 10 days straight allowing a huge wind swell to build. By the time the winds subsided, the swell it left behind was well over 8 feet. February looks promising considering the late winter the U.S. has been experience making us believe that some stronger cold fronts are ready to strike. Although conditions have since subsided we continue to look northwest for low pressure systems firing off the Florida coast giving us that pressure gradient and allowing ideal conditions for another wind, water, and waves holiday session.
