The 12th Annual Man-O-War Cay Fishing Tournament, held out of Man-O-War Marina and held in late April was a great success. Fair skies and calm seas greeted the eight boats that registered for the competition, unlike last year’s event that featured lots of wind and rough seas.
“The Man-O-War Tournament is a great local event that brings together Bahamians, second homeowners, boaters and visitors. It is quite an exceptional group of anglers whose attitude toward the tournament is totally good natured. They help one another, really care about one another, and have a lot of fun”, shared tournament organizer Jim Albertson.
Organizers extend special thanks to Bronson Roberts who served as weigh-master and who also cleaned all the fish. This year a new scale was introduced to the tournament thanks to Bronson.
Certificates were presented at the awards dinner and the top boat received their cash prize of $500. The awards banquet was held at “Sea to Sea”, the home of Scott and Judy Gregory on Man-O-War Cay.
