Lake Conditions: 1’ below full pool, stained and 78 degrees.

The temperature is heating up and Lake Seminole is on fire! Bass have started to move into their post-spawn areas. Top-water baits, like frogs and buzz-baits, have been very productive early and late in the day along the grass lines on the main lake. I have had a lot of success with a Strike King Pro

Model 3/8 oz. in white, fished fairly fast, and the strikes are furious. A plastic stick bait, like a Strike King Ocho in green pumpkin, has been very productive fished in 8’ to 10’ of water, and also fished along main lake grass edges.

Bream have started to bed and are being taken on crickets and red wigglers. We’ve seen some big catches of them crossing the docks at Wingate’s.

Bass Island Campground at Wingate’s Lunker Lodge has been full of people fishing for shellcracker and bream. The many bedding shellcracker being caught has resulted in a lot of fish fries. This campground is unique, you can pull your boat right up to your campsite and plug it in for the night then get up the next morning and go straight to fishing. Bring your catch back to your site for cleaning, eating and repeat!
