Abaco Inshore Fishing Report and Forecast: July 2014

Abaco July Fishing Report

[dropcap]J[/dropcap]uly is a very hot month for in South Abaco, the waters are beautiful and calm with very warm temperatures from 70-to-78 degrees and light winds. We will be targeting the bonefish that will be in big schools from the very big ones to the very small ones. We will be using 6- to 10-pound spinning gear and 8- or 9-weight fly rods with small pieces of our Bahamian delicious conch meat or shrimp to lure them.

On the flats, we will also meet our main guest of honor with his toothy critters and sweet taste of meat that we call by the name the barracuda that we will lure with 15-pound spinning gear tipped with light green lures.

We will also troll the inshore waters for cubera snappers, amber jacks and yellowtails and we will entice them with red and black skirts.

I hope that you will take the time to come visit us in Sandy Point to enjoy what we have to offer. Complete packages can be offered, ranging from ground transportation to accommodations, to meals during your South Abaco stay. I can be reached via email: tony@southabaco.com if you have any questions or need further information regarding our South Abaco inshore fishery.
